Federal Tax Credit

As you may already know, the new Federal Stimulus Bill was signed into law on February 17, 2009. The bill extends and modifies the tax credits for qualifying products as established in the Energy Tax Policy Act of 2005. Homeowners can receive 30% of the cost, up to $1,500.00, as a credit towards their Federal Taxes for 2009 and 2010.

To qualify for the tax credit, the windows, doors, and skylights must be placed in service after February 17, 2009, and must have a U-factor equal to 0.30 or less and a Solar Heat Gain Coefficient (SHGC) equal to 0.30 or less.
